Introduction to Marketing With Twitter
In October 2009, I was asked to give a presentation about marketing a business with Twitter. The event was held by the Society for Human Resource Management in Indianapolis (SHRM) (@IndySHRM). The presentation was built with the intention that the audience had no prior knowledge of the service.
Of course, there were some in attendance who had prior knowledge of the service. Their experience on the service also was informative during the event.
As a side note, this is an audience that were primarily BlackBerry users, as opposed to iPhone users. Yes, I took a poll. If I remember correctly, BlackBerry was the preferred phone in use by about 80%.
This presentation is called “Twitter to Market Your Business.” Due to limited time at the event, this presentation is only an introduction to the functionality of Twitter and how to use the service. It does not cover detailed information about strategy or development using the Twitter API.
Since the presentation was given before Twitter lists were part of the service, they are not mentioned in the PowerPoint. The presentation is, however, being revised to include information about Twitter lists.
I’ve been meaning to post this for quite some time now. Here you go…
