The New Online Analytics Dashboard

29 January 2010 No Comment

I presented at the American Strategic Management Institute’s Online Engagement Marketing event. The presentations at the event were choc-full of information about online engagement initiatives. A lot of topics were covered by various speakers in a short amount of time.

The various methods to analyzing and integrating online initiatives were definitely a lot to absorb. Since the event took place over a three day period (January 27-29), I’m guessing that a case of information overload is not out of the question for those who attended.

If you attended and would like clarification about any of the points that were mentioned, let me know, and we can chat.

Being that it’s my first time to stop and spend time here (well, does a few hours count?), I’ll be exploring D.C. in the morning before I catch a flight back to Indianapolis.

It was great to meet everybody who was there, both attendees and speakers.

Among the speakers were:

  • Katie Paine, Founder of KD Paine and Associates
  • Karen Grimm, Chief Strategy Officer of Siddal
  • Paul Chaney, Internet Marketing Director at Bizzuka
  • John Rooks, President of The Soap Group
  • Laura Lee Dooley, Online Engagement Strategist at the World Resources Institute
  • John Dranow, President and CEO of SmartRevenue
  • Perry Goldschein, Partner of SDialogue
  • John Moore, Evangelist at the Word-of-Mouth Association

It was an honor to be among this group.

The presenters shared some worthwhile information (for the presentations that I was able to attend, anyway). The topics that I spoke about were Online Analytics Dashboards and Stakeholder Buy-In for Online Initiatives.

By Mike Moran

For decades, marketers have been taught to carefully plan ahead because “you must get it right–it’s too expensive to change.” But, in the age of the Web, you can know in hours whether your strategy’s working. Today, winners don’t get it right the first time: they start fast, change fast, and relentlessly optimize their way to success. They do it wrong quickly…then fix it, just as quickly!

In this book, Internet marketing pioneer Mike Moran shows you how to do that–step-by-step and in detail. Drawing on his experience building ibm.com into one of the world’s most successful sites, Moran shows how to quickly transition from “plan then execute” to a non-stop cycle of refinement.
